Dr. Francis Collins on Genetic Contributions to Homosexuality

I found this article on Dr. Throckmorton’s site after some surfing this morning. Dr. Collins, in case you’re not familiar, is the man who is the head of the Human Genome Project. He’s a geneticist and, frankly, a very good theologian as well. His book The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief was, for me, a thrilling read. It’s an antidote to this slobbering attitude that to be a “good Christian” one must reject the views of science as being too worldly. Dr. Collins lays out an argument that shows how science reaffirms and underlines the presence of a Creator.

Anywho, apparently there was some dustup between Dr. Collins and NARTH, who misused quotes from his work in an article. The letter Dr. Throckmorton reprints also lays out the latest in geneticist thinking along the lines of genetic contributions to homosexuality.

Read it here. And you should be visiting Dr. Throckmorton’s site more.
