Discussion Thread: 30 Days on “Same Sex Parenting”

Have you joined Hulu yet?

www.hulu.com is a free internet streaming site that is a joint venture by several studios. The whole brouhaha that brought the Writer’s Strike this last year is over the advertising revenue generated by sites like this. But this site provides episodes of a good number of television series, some of which are not always available unless you have extended cable.

Which brings me to a show I love but cannot otherwise see: 30 Days.

Created by documentarian Morgan Spurlock (“Supersize Me,” “Where in the World is Osama bin Ladin?”) 30 Days is a fairly unique documentary series in that it takes two volunteer people or couples from opposite sides of an issue and for 30 days, they live with each other and learn from each other’s lives.

The episode on “Same Sex Parenting” is enlightening on SO MANY LEVELS, by things said and by things not said. Beyond the issue of same sex parenting, I think the episode highlights so many of the reasons why we as men and women who are recovering from our same sex attractions still have difficulty with people who are so entrenched in their beliefs that they cannot see the issue for what it is. But as an instructive, as an hour of educational material, this is a very beneficial episode.

Let’s consider this thread a conversational thread.  After you’ve seen it (probably after signing up for the episode), then let’s chat here.  I’d be curious to know what you’re feelings about it are.
