It Went Very Well, Praise God!

The hospital stay was a little rough around the edges.  The first couple of days I got brought all the way out of pain, made comfortable, pictures taken, everything wonderful.  Then Tuesday, they took me to the operating room and — this is under local anesthetic mind you — they opened up the marble sack, shoved a huge needle straight inside and drained infected blood and pus from the cyst.  An incredible amount of it, actually.

Now that it’s all over and I avoided a doctor’s very anxious determination to put me in a rest home for a few weeks to recover (if I haven’t shared that time with you on this blog, then I’m amiss and should do so soon.)  Fortunately, I have an aunt who’s ready and willing to come out and clean and pack the surgical wound.  No sign of cancerous material in the drainage, which is the best sign.

It’s just the battle…whew.  I’m tired.

So later this week is a post about the battle…about the people who do fight and the people who don’t and understanding what the fight is all about…and maintaining the spirit of brotherhood and knighthood that will get us through it.

Thanks for your prayers.  I’d appreciate them to continue through this week.  It’s going to be a tough, tough month financially.
